Bayland Veneer Inc. buys lumber from a select group of sawmills that share the same ethics and commitment to responsible forestry. Lumber received by Bayland Veneer is sorted and put up for slicing. All lumber is tracked throughout the process of production.
Lumber is steamed to a point where it is ready for slicing. Then, the lumber is sliced on a Marunaka Lumber Slicer to the thickness requested by our customers. Typical thicknesses range from 1/42nd to 1/16th. After slicing, the flitch are passed through a Fezer Dryer to be dried. The veneer is then cut to size or put on pallets as a random width by random length product to meet our customers’ specifications.
